Did you know that William Tecumseh Sherman was a painter? I don’t mean to fan flames but I’ve read recently that southerners burned their own cities before Sherman came through so his men couldn’t forage for stuff. Wonder if that’s true . . . He was also an Aquarian. Looks like Sam Shepherd to me.

War is hell! Many times in many places it was better to burn everything rather than let it fall to the enemy! Enemy’s get stronger and meaner if they have your food and your stuff.
Sherman . . . burning his way along!

I lived in his hometown for 4 1/2 years. I drove by his childhood home many times. 🙂

It’s fun thinking of him as artsy 🙂 We live near the cottage where Grant died. They left it just as it was the day he died–only a little while after completing his great memoir which he wrote to keep his family from bankruptcy. The clock is stopped and everything.

It is! I didn’t realize that he was a painter, so this is my cool, fun fact of the day.
