My son got a pink sewing machine for Christmas when he was about 4 because he saw my machine and thought it was cool. My father got it as a joke, but my son was humiliated by the pink color and wouldn’t even look at it. I never told him anything about colors but he picked it up by the culture 🙂

What a fascinating article. I knew about the boys in white dresses til age six. But it goes way back before Victorian days!
