It’s more fun to think it was written by a military man with someone else stealing credit, but I can’t figure out why a scholar would take credit for something he didn’t write… 😉
I’ve known plenty of scholars who were scoundrels. You don’t need special credentials. But I’m going to continue to believe Clement Moore wrote it, giving some room for his playful side.
BTW, the snow works better on your site than anyone else’s.
