Just thinking how Martin Luther struggled with perfectionism and finally found some relief from that terrible affliction by studying the Bible (after many dark nights of the soul). I think he’s sort of an anti-Shaker type character. 🙂
Yes, ‘On The Bondage Of The Will’ he firmly stated his case about how faith, and faith alone, ‘ saved ‘- – how righteousness was accommodated by God, and not a qualification in and of itself.
