  1. Many beautiful faces and those dresses – today, the fabric to make one Civil War era dress would make 6 – 12 outfits! Can’t imagine wearing one, what with the tight bodices and heavy weight.

    • I could look at faces for hours. It’s so fun imagining what they were thinking.

      Yeah but the outfits today are so blah. When I re-enacted I was surprised at how easily I adjusted to the clothes. Also I played a hospital nurse for a while so we all wore work dresses which were pretty lightweight and easier to move about in. All I can say is that I felt elevated wearing those clothes–but I’m an oddball I guess. 🙂
